EXPERIENCE
As a fitness coach/personal trainer, I am passionate about helping people become more active and healthier through making lifestyle changes, not just a quick fix. It’s very rewarding to know I can help people make positive changes to their health, lifestyle, self-confidence and general outlook in life.
Having always been involved in sports (touch football, netball, Oztag, cricket, tennis, squash, volleyball), exercise and training, I learned from an early age that being active and exercising can be enjoyable and lots of fun.
During a routine health assessment at work in 1995, I found out that I had high cholesterol (I guess I didn’t choose my parents properly). I was told then to modify my diet and exercise more. By changing my lifestyle and without the aid of medication, I got my cholesterol down from 7.4 (high) to 4.0 (normal). This was when I really became interested in health and fitness and where my journey as a personal trainer began.
I have been a personal trainer since 1997 and have trained hundreds of clients of all ages with varying levels of fitness, from beginners to professional athletes and performers. My professional experience includes working in a five star resort (Hayman Island Resort, Queensland), large fitness centres and an exclusive personal training studio.
I’m not the kind of trainer who yells or screams like an army sergeant. I take a down to earth approach with my clients – I care about them, their goals, their level of fitness and what they are capable of.
